A couple weeks ago, I decided to apply for a design job at LEGO. In Denmark.
Shooting for Mars I guess. The worse that could happen is they say no/nej.
So. Short story short, they politely turned me down.
However, in the process of applying, I managed to reacquaint myself with the glorious experience that is rummaging through a [massive] bucket of loose LEGO pieces, courtesy of Nils' childhood. Instead of applying with just my resume and portfolio, I also decided to design and build a concept LEGO series and made a fun little video.
UPDATE: LEGO has just revealed a new set for the summer in this month's catalog: Fairground Mixer. It's awesome and along the same lines as my designs from a couple weeks ago - a ride with some midway games. So good news, I'm thinking along the same lines as LEGO designers in terms of spotting thematic opportunities?? yay?
